Back in the day, France was part of NATO (for a first time) and USA had many military bases around the french territory. Obviously part of them were air force ones. When France left NATO, american soldiers had to leave quickly and most of their facilities were left empty.
We could imagine that these explorations are easy but most of the time, this kind of facilities are still part of military complexes. The Saint Matthew base is not the exception and the my feeling there was very weird…
Furthermore, they were dogs barking all around us during our visit and I REALLY don’t like dogs in these situations ! Hopefully I was with Urbexconnection this time (thank you for the location by the way) and it really made this exploration a real infiltration !
