In the series of factories, we have already visited cement works, glassworks, foundries etc., but I don’t think we have ever visited a food factory. The Macaroni factory is indeed a factory for pasta and other flour-based products. I guess you could have guessed that from the name of the place.
But does it really make a difference? It is hard to say, as the factory itself was empty. There was still part of the production line, but it could just as easily have been made for packs of water or stacks of plates. The visit was almost limited to a series of empty sheds…
Fortunately, there were also offices, and they were much more interesting. Most of the furniture was still in place, as were numerous objects and documents attesting to the site’s history. For a moment, I even thought the fax machine was going to light up and work properly!
